1. INTRODUCTORY LESSON You may partake in an introductory lesson, which we believe is the best way for you to know whether training in the Academy is for you. A casual fee of $10 is charged for an introductory lesson (which is take off your membership fee if you join). Note that beginners are not 'thrown into the deep end', but are taken aside by one of our senior students and shown the basics (right from how to make a fist correctly) all at their own pace. New students who have some martial arts experience are fast tracked according to their ability. To arrange an introductory first lesson offer please contact us via any of the methods set out here. 2. ADULT/CONCESSION FEES 3 month advance payment

Note however that the vouchers for gashuku and intensive training course are issued only when a 6 month or 12 month membership is purchased upfront - ie. vouchers are not given for an upgrade. $170.00 4. HOLIDAYS There are no classes on public holidays, the Easter weekend and the period between Christmas Eve and New Year (inclusive). Adults’ and teenagers’ classes continue to be held during school and university holidays but the children’s class is only held during the school terms. 5. FAMILY DISCOUNTS 20% discount applies on fees to family members (living under the one family household income) that join for the same period. 6. REFUNDS AND CREDITS Please note that membership can be temporarily suspended or a credit given only when a student has given written notice of his/her intention to discontinue training - in advance. Any fees paid are non-refundable and in the event of a temporary suspension of membership the period of membership will be extended by the length of the suspension. Whenever possible, financial matters should be discussed with the instructor before a problem arises. 7. PAYMENT Payment for the 3, 6 or 12 month advance payment or an 8 lesson credit can be made by cash, cheque or direct bank transfer. Cheques should be made out to: WU-WEI DAO. Please contact the instructor for Direct Bank Transfer Bank details. 8. UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT The Academy uniform (GI) consists of a special diamond patterned blue jacket, elasticized blue pants and appropriate colour belt. An Academy T-shirt may be worn to most training sessions instead of a jacket (but not to gradings or certain courses). No footwear is worn. Uniforms, T-shirts, martial arts weapons and equipment are available from the dojo. 9. SPECIAL EVENTS An intensive training course and gashuku (training camp) are held at the beginning of Autumn and Summer respectively. These events are both one week in duration and no normal classes are held during these periods. The cost of these events is in addition to the usual tuition fees. |
